Sarah and Dan met at the café at Robert Morris University where they discovered they were just weeks away from going on the same spring break trip. Sarah happened to be dating another guy at the time, which didn’t appear to last very long after she met Dan. Their love story evolved and he finally had plans in order to propose Christmas of 2013. (It became evident very quickly that Dan -an accountant, identified many times as “the man with the plan”- and Sarah - an event planner - both have a knack for planning).
For their proposal, Dan “kidnapped” her and took her to a romantic lodge where he surprised her with a dinner for two in a firelit room. She was sure to note this was unusual so she had an inkling something was up. He had hidden an ornament on a Christmas tree in the cabin and when she found it- she read the words “He put a ring on it” and turned to find Dan on one knee, asking her to marry him. Fast forward many months and they finally had a house ready to move into and all the plans for their beautiful day in place.
There were so many special, and extremely emotional, moments throughout this epic wedding day. A stand out for us was the surprise Sarah’s family had planned for her…
Sarah had the traditional something old, something new, and something blue, but was missing her something borrowed. Her family knew about this and decided to surprise her with the perfect ‘borrowed’ item. Sarah’s dad tragically passed away years ago. Her mom and stepdad decided that as a way to honor him and keep him as a big part of the day- they would sew his wedding band into her dress. When they showed her, I think everyone in the room lost it.
That was just one example of how incredibly close Sarah is to her family and friends that surrounded her on her wedding day.
Also very evident was the love Sarah and Dan have for one another. The way they spoke to and about each other was truly moving. Plus, they were soooo easy to work with and so much fun! They were beaming the entire day, kind to each and every person, and laid back about everything (maybe that comes from them being such incredible planners ;) Even the scattered thunderstorms couldn’t hinder their bliss. The bride and groom were champs. They strolled through the botanical gardens trails with smiles and high spirits.
The day was unquestionably beautiful, with an Alice and Wonderland theme for table décor, A huge bridal party, a party bus, botanical gardens, the most touching slew of dances, and the most epic cookie/cake buffet we’ve ever seen. So without further adue, Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Dan and Sarah Braun!!!!! Thank you for allowing us to be a part of this most special day! We have no doubt God has incredible things in store for you two as you embark on the incredible journey that is marriage alongside your best friend! #GoingGoingBraun
