Believe it or not, this wedding was our first time in the Poconos! And it did not disappoint. The wedding was held at The Woodloch Pines Resort, which just so happens to be where Joey and Kelly met! Kelly worked at the resort, and Joey’s family vacationed there for years! One New Year’s eve- Joey, whose name she did not yet know, caught her eye, so she decided to ask a coworker if he knew the name of the Lanciotti’s son. Her co-worker was anything but subtle, and Joey overheard the conversation. He made sure to get Kelly’s email address. Email was not their primary means of correspondence for very long. Fast forward a bit, and he ended up proposing near the water at this same resort! It only made sense that this special location would be where they would also tie the knot!
Woodloch Pines is not only near and dear to the hearts of the bride, the groom, and their families, but it is an absolutely incredible venue! It was recognized by TripAdvisor as the #2 Family Resort in the United States. And we have no doubt why. A beautiful escape that is picturesque to say the least. Located right off Teedyuskung Lake, It is tranquility meets luxury. Boats decorate the waters. Trees line streets and walkways. Nature at its finest.
Not only was the scenery breathtaking, but the accommodations and amenities were as well. The spa service came directly to Kelly’s house to do the ladies hair and makeup. The food was delicious. Staff were warm and welcoming. And to top it off, they had the most exceptional live band we have ever heard. Seriously – you would forget it was live music playing, it was THAT good.
Kelly’s beautiful mom passed away just seven years ago. Although she wasn’t physically present, she was there in other ways. They found beautiful ways to honor her life throughout the day. Needless to say, we cried more than once. Kelly was surrounded by Joey’s family, great college friends, and her dear cousin, Laura, who came all the way from London! Laura was the MOH, and had one heck of a speech!
The life, love and energy at this wedding were contagious from the beginning of the day to the end. Joey is from a large, close-knit Italian family. Although there were many in attendance, it felt intimate because nearly everyone knew each other!
The highlight of the day had to be Joey and Kelly’s excitement about becoming husband and wife. There is no questioning that they are best friends. They got up at the crack of dawn to share breakfast together before the festivities began. They each put a lot of time and thought into the beautiful gifts and letters they exchanged just hours before saying their vows. And the sparkle in their eyes as they looked at one another was truly remarkable. Their much anticipated countdown is over as they now embark on their forever journey together.
