Maggie, the beautiful bride, also a critical care doctor, hails from the south hills of Pittsburgh. College, Med School and Residency took her across the state and country – so when she returned years later to her home city – she found it to be a place that had lost much of it’s familiarity. Kevin, the dashing groom, relocated to Pittsburgh from Erie for an accounting job. New jobs, and new locations, resulted in them both closing the door on old chapters in their lives and ready for something new.
With match.com as the platform – they connected. For each of them – the other was the only person they felt comfortable going on a date with. Their first date to Atria’s went so well that after they got home, they both shut down their accounts.
As their love story evolved, they found themselves returning to Atria’s each week to sit at the same table and get lost in conversation. It quickly became “their spot”.
One evening, after sleeping off a brutal night shift at the hospital, Maggie awoke to ask Kevin a big question… “Do you want to go to Atria’s?” She reports that she must be “extremely predictable” because he quickly agreed. And it was there- going about their usual routine at this familiar restaurant in their usual spot – that Kevin completely surprised Maggie by asking her if she would spend the rest of her life as his wife.
To kick things off for their wedding weekend- it may come as no surprise that Kevin and Maggie’s venue of choice for the rehearsal dinner was “their place” – Atria’s.
The couple’s November wedding fell on a brisk, sunny day and found them in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh. Their morning’s were spent getting ready in separate rooms at the Westin Hotel alongside each of their respective bridal parties. It was incredibly relaxed and unrushed - allowing ample time to prepare prior to the ceremony’s 530pm start.
Heinz History Center was where both the ceremony and wedding reception took place. I could gush on and on about the beauty in every detail of this day. Maggie compiled an incredible team of wedding professionals and they hit the ball out of the park. The wedding planner selected was Shae with Soireet by Souleret. She was seven months pregnant at the time, but that did not slow her down. She worked tirelessly the entire day long. I have to give her some major props as she lit hundreds of candles, hand wrote each and every gorgeous place card, kept the timeline flowing perfectly, and so much more. It was truly a privilege to be a part of this amazing team and this dream wedding.
Kevin and Maggie are two incredibly smart, down to earth, fun people. They make each other laugh and they are a great team. We couldn’t be more excited for all that is in store for these two – in Pittsburgh and beyond.
We can’t thank you enough - Kevin and Maggie – for selecting us to capture the beauty of your day, and your love, on video.
