While we knew a little bit about Jake and Taylor's story, we had no idea what we were in for on that brisk Fall day at a small vineyard in Ohio this past November.
What we did know is that Jake and Taylor may just be two of the most unlikely people you'd expect to find at Jack's Biker Bar in Pittsburgh's Southside. But one serendipitous evening found Jake out on the town with his sister and her friends at that exact spot. A beautiful girl caught his eye and he spent the evening attempting to get to know her.
That girl just so happened to be Taylor, who did not happen to share the same sentiments about Jake that he had about her. In lieu of her phone number at the end of the night, she gave him her business card, with her e-mail address, in attempt to blow him off. But this move did not deter Jake. He accepted the challenge and followed up with an email that's subject line read "You've got mail."
He convinced Taylor to go out on a date with him and she figured one date wouldn't hurt. But one date turned into many more as they quickly realized that a silly night out at a biker bar had changed their lives forever.
While their love came swiftly, it was accompanied by more hardship than many people will face in a lifetime. Throughout the two years of their relationship, Jacob has battled both Testicular cancer and Hodgkin's Lymphoma. In fact, he was in the midst of his final weeks of chemotherapy treatment on his wedding day.
We edited their film with tears streaming down our faces and joy oozing from our hearts. Never have we been so transformed by a couple's faith and devotion. Their fortitude and perseverance. Their humility and strength.
Their wedding day was truly a celebration in the truest form. Of where they have been. And where they are going. Together. We promise that nothing could be more worth your time than these six minutes that provide a glimpse into the unwavering love between Jacob and Taylor, their families, and our great God.
