Pittsburgh Winter Wedding: Drew + Annie

Drew and Annie spent years attending the same church. Volunteering with the same youth group. Sharing a number of mutual friends. They lived parallel lives that somehow never quite seemed to intersect. All the while, they separately found themselves growing weary toward the belief that God had created a partner suited just for each of them. The irony here is that for all of those years, they were quite literally right in front of one another.

On the morning of their wedding, Drew wrote to Annie saying, "I don't know why God waited so long to open my eyes to the woman who was right in front of me for all of those years. I imagine that he had something to teach us about the preciousness of His gifts in the way that waiting on Him and His plans will never let us down. Not only did he not let me down, but he blew my wildest dreams out of the water when he brought you into my life. And it will be my life's work to see your smile and hear your laughter every day.

Today we begin an awesome and mysterious journey where we become one flesh. One family. One team. God brought us together to be teammates dedicated to serving the Lord in ways greater than we could ever do alone. Together you and I. Together with God."

Proverbs 13:12 tells us that "Hope deferred makes the heart sick. But a longing fulfilled is a tree of life."

Drew and Annie's story is one of hope, Of the perfection of God's timing. And of longings fulfilled. Once their eyes were opened to the gift of each other, they were ready for their forever together to begin as soon as possible. They planned their gorgeous winter wedding in less than six months!

Unfortunately the week of the wedding, poor Annie was bedridden with not just the flu, but strep throat AND the flu. Not missing a beat, Drew stepped up to both care for his soon to be wife, and finish up all of the last minute logistics.

Their wedding day had so many wonderful surprises to enhance the celebration and surprise their guests. A great deal of time and intention were put into each detail. But what spoiled all those in attendance the most was the electric chemistry and obvious love and excitement overflowing from both the bride and groom as they committed to joining their lives together as one.

Drew and Annie - Congratulations! We are ecstatic for you! It was an honor to share in the celebration of your love and we cannot wait to see all that God has in store for the adventure of your life together!
