Sometimes, the most beautiful love stories come with a little rain — and Ashley and Joey’s wedding day was the perfect proof of that.

On a February afternoon at the stunning Epping Forest Yacht Club, the skies opened up and the ceremony had to be moved indoors. What could have been a disappointment turned into something even more intimate and magical. Ashley and Joey embraced every moment with so much grace, laughter, and undeniable joy. Their love — pure, steady, and overflowing — was the real sunshine of the day.

Joey, an officer in the Navy currently in Pilot School in Pensacola, stood tall in his dress uniform, and their ceremony was a beautiful nod to his service. There’s something incredibly moving about a military wedding — the tradition, the honor, the deep sense of commitment — and it made their vows even more powerful. The love and pride in the room were palpable.

As guests gathered inside, the cozy setting only amplified the emotion. Tears fell freely (ours included) as Ashley and Joey exchanged heartfelt vows, surrounded by the warmth of their family and friends. Every detail — from the elegant florals to the glow of candlelight — made the space feel like it was always meant to be the backdrop for their “I do.”

The celebration continued with moments that were uniquely them — including one of our favorites: the cake cutting. True to tradition, they used Joey’s ceremonial sword, slicing into their wedding cake with laughter and cheers from their guests. It was such a perfect blend of romance, honor, and a little bit of fun — just like Ashley and Joey themselves.

As the night drew to a close, Ashley and Joey shared a private last dance — just the two of them, swaying in a quiet, candlelit room — taking in every moment before stepping into their new life together. It was tender, emotional, and the perfect way to end a day so full of heart.

Then, hand in hand, they ran through a tunnel of sparklers, surrounded by the laughter and cheers of their favorite people — a bright, joyful send-off into forever.
