Rustic elegance, Irish charm, and an unforgettable love story.

There are weddings that are beautiful… and then there are weddings that feel like pure magic from start to finish. Alex and Brian’s day was the latter — a celebration deeply personal, wildly elegant, and undeniably one-of-a-kind. Set against the architectural grandeur of Chicago and the historic backdrop of the Field Museum, their wedding was the perfect blend of unfiltered moments and intentional details.

From Baxter to Ireland: A Love Story with Global Roots

Alex and Brian first crossed paths in the most everyday way — over lunch in the Baxter cafeteria. But their story quickly evolved from coworkers to kindred spirits. When Brian had the chance to move to Ireland for work, he invited Alex along. She said yes. That seven-hour flight away from everything familiar became the moment everything changed. Somewhere over the Atlantic, they fell in love.

To honor that defining part of their story, they tied Irish charm into their wedding day. Clover place cards greeted each guest with a sweet message: “We’re so lucky you’re here.” It was whimsical, meaningful, and uniquely them.

Their wedding colors — olive, walnut, and ivory — set the tone for a celebration with rich textures, moody undertones, and rustic elegance. From warm wood and leather details to the subtle nods to Ireland, everything felt like a page from their shared life. As Alex shared, one of her favorite parts of planning was getting to create those quiet, meaningful touches “that no one may notice, but mean something to us.”

Brian, ever the calm presence, stood in awe of Alex’s vision and how tirelessly she brought it all to life. “She worked so hard,” he shared, “and truly enjoyed every part of it.”

This stunning vision came to life with the help of the talented team at Events To A T, who coordinated every elegant and emotional detail with care.

A Day Filled with Emotion & Intention

The day began with heartfelt letters exchanged between the bride and groom — written with love, read in private, and treasured forever.

One of the most touching moments was Alex’s first look with her dad. The way he beamed at his daughter, and later delivered a toast that left not a single dry eye in the room:

“I held Alex’s hand for many years, and now it’s time to entrust her hand to yours. You stole her heart and made her laugh louder than I ever could. Continue to take care of my precious girl. Welcome to the family, son. We love you.”

Can we just pause for dad goals?

Meanwhile, Alex’s bridesmaids were the ultimate hype squad — cheering her on at the reveal with tears, squeals, and a whole lot of love.

And then came the moment — her private first look with Brian. You could feel the weight and joy of it all. As he turned around and saw his bride, it was obvious: this was a man who knew he was the luckiest guy in the world.
